Purple

I am writing to chase a feeling

to write to chase it To feel

then write it Feeling to chase

and write A poem is my body

and every other body in Earth’s

body Wonder is another body

hungry for the words of dead men

living inside of us All of it

Regurgitating Filtered through

our own saliva Words for the

hard-of-seeing which frankly

are all of us Were you aware

Purple isn’t purple to everyone

and certainly not to purple

This is why I am writing this

to chase it to feel the feeling

To tell you in writing

how beautiful purple can be
