1. A kitchen party: cut up voices and love songs in the blender. It scares me. Everything’s too colorful and god I hate the noise behind us but you’re still so beautiful even with your face tinted green.

2. Please sing me french songs and drive me home, windows down so I can stick my head out.

3. Listen, we’re so young, we have so much time, you say. But that’s not true: a lifetime is too short. Think about it—in the Bible, men lived to be 900 years old. Someone asked me, what would anyone even do with all that extra time? I have no clue. Probably love.

4. Somehow I know you’re the last one. Somehow I know you’ll hurt.

5. Thanks. I missed this. My head hurts and I want you to kiss my belly.

6. Here. Some lemonade—nothing better than a sobering glass of citrus gut at three in the morning.

7. You say you’re worried. I say Why? You say Because everything ends. I nod; I wonder if I’m worth ending for; I wonder if we’re worth beginning.

8. I wish you’d say it to me right now. You don’t. I say it so you wouldn’t have to. I’m worried you’ll leave. You don’t. You smile. You tell me I’m just a child, what would I know. What would we know.

9. Let’s forget all this and just go dance. Here, Bossa on the radio. Twirl me around like a spinning top and catch me, too. All I want is to be held by you. All I want to do is dance.

10. I’ve never felt so alive. Why aren’t you holding my hand? Come here, take care of me, love me. I’m scared, so scared, you know that, why are you trying to leave? Where are you going? Hold on. Not yet. Listen, my heart’s beating with yours. Listen, we’re alive. We’re so young, so in love. So alive.
